About the role

Department Overview:

The Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center is located within the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Its investigators work to improve diagnosis and care for patients with dementia while focusing on the program’s long-term goal of finding a way to cure and prevent Alzheimer’s disease. Anticipated Hours Per Week:

Schedule:

The candidate should be able to work remotely for 5-10 hours per week during the school year. Additional hours may be available in the summer. On-site work will be considered. Our office is located at 3330 University Avenue, on the near west side of Madison, accessible by bus.

Qualifications:

• Ability to learn new concepts quickly
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Punctual with deadlines and communication
• Strong writing, editing and communication skills
• Social media management and marketing experience a plus, but not required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Audio recording, editing, and mixing in Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Audition
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with graphic design platforms like Canva or Adobe Express a plus, but not required

Position Summary/Job Duties:

• Edit raw audio, add clips and produce final MP3 files for distribution
• Write episode descriptions, transcripts and promotional text for the podcast’s website, marketing materials and social media, and revise based on feedback
• Assist the podcast team in topic development, identifying guests and episode planning
• Provide social media support, including drafting posts for the podcast and ADRC’s social media platforms
• Assist the podcast team with editorial, graphic design and website projects as assigned
• Assist the communications team with other ADRC communications projects as assigned

• Use of a laptop computer/mouse/keyboard
