Student Nursing Support Assistant, NSPP, PRN, Variable

Essential Functions

• Assists with patient needs related to personal hygiene.  Duties include but are not limited to bathing, washing hair, brushing teeth, and washing hands under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN).

• Assists patient with ambulation needs under the direct supervision of the RN.  Duties include but are not limited to dangling, walking, walking with assistive device, toileting and implementing fall prevention measures under the direct supervision of the RN.

• Performs other administrative duties as requested.

• Provides directional assistance and wayfinding.

• Turns and repositions patient as directed by RN.

• Acts as a courier/runner to other areas of the hospital.

• Transports discharged patients or assists technician or RN with hospital transports.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Education - High School diploma or equivalent.

• Must currently be enrolled in good standing in an accredited Nursing Program (RN).

• Currently enrolled in a Nursing Foundations/Fundamentals course or equivalent course material.

• Experience - No previous experience
