Job Description
The scope of Strategic Sourcing Manager is to provide value (e.g. hitting annual savings targets, reducing contractual risk, and meet stakeholder requirements) while building strong relationships with their internal business units and drive enterprise-wide sourcing, category management, and contract negotiation. This role will specifically focus on scaling software sourcing solutions in untapped spend areas (e.g. Manage tail spend- 100+ suppliers) and aid the Sourcing of Sales/Finance Applications. Individuals successful in this role will be able to scale software sourcing at high volumes and have the ability to curate new strategies for vendor engagement, renewal processing, and stakeholder enablement while achieving department and company wide- KPIs.
What you get to do in this role:
- Manage software sourcing initiatives from opportunity assessment to contract execution as an individual contributor on the Software Sourcing Team
- Manage ServiceNow’s software tail spend and craft a programmatic approach to navigate renewal processing, vendor engagement, and stakeholder enablement at scale
- Ensure sourcing serves as a critical enabler and value add to the business, while managing to budgetary and operational targets
- Manage, advise, and engage in the sourcing and contracting processes including evaluating, negotiating, redlining, and entering contracts or renewing relationships with Software/SaaS, Software Maintenance, and support suppliers
- Identify, evaluate, and implement sourcing industry trends to advance company strategic sourcing excellence
- Strengthen partnerships with business functions across the company to provide valuable consultation.
- Develop a strong strategic advisor/partner relationship with the legal function to ensure best in class contracting practices are in place globally
- Conduct and facilitate RFx processes where appropriate, e.g. RFI, RFP, RFQ, including TCO modeling of RFx proposals, presenting results to stakeholders, and driving to closure on a decision
- Benchmark suppliers and trends, create category strategies, monitor strategic supplier performance, and enable the business to be informed
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
- 5+ years of experience in technology sourcing with a focus on Software in a high growth, dynamic environment
- Excellent organization and time management skills to oversee simultaneously occurring projects, tasks, and deadlines.
- Ability to spot trends in data quickly and present findings in a clear/concise manner to stakeholders/leadership
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to cultivate and maintain strong internal and external relationships at all levels
- Be a proven creative thinker with a problem-solving approach to implement solutions at scale
- Working knowledge of sourcing processes, methodologies, and approaches
- Exhibit strong analytical, conceptual thinking, strategic planning, and execution skills.
