Strategic Operations Associate

About the Role: 

Steel Perlot is looking to hire an experienced operator to scale our company’s operational processes and to enable our leadership team to be efficient, productive, and effective.  The Strategic Operations Associate will assist in the development and implementation of strategic short term projects as well as planning for long-term goals. You will also evaluate the results of overall operations regularly, and recommend and implement strategies for improvement and growth of the business. This is a vital role for Steel Perlot that will drive results and improve the overall efficiency and scalability of the organization, reporting directly to the CEO.

Overview

Steel Perlot is a technology investment fund that specializes in building and investing in scalable platform businesses across various industries, including applied AI, next-gen chips, renewables, and global finances. We are looking for individuals with passion for innovation, technical excellence, drive to deliver and collaboration mindset that can help accelerate our goal.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operations and business strategy
• Prepare pitch decks, presentations, and investment memos to effectively communicate the value proposition and investment potential to internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for investment evaluations and strategic planning
• Collaborate with the operations team to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall business development workflow.
• Act as a systems thinker, considering both quantitative and qualitative factors in investment analysis and strategic decision-making.
• Perform Due Diligence  
• Market intelligence and mapping
• Conduct thorough market research, competitive analysis, and trend assessments to identify emerging talent, investment opportunities, and potential partnerships.

Desired Skills and Qualifications 

• Degree in Business or Economics, and MBA with similar focus.
• 3+ years of investment experience (VC/PE, investment banking, private equity) and/or management consulting (ie McKinsey, BCG, or Bain)
• Outstanding analytical skills, detail-oriented, proactive and self-motivated  
• Experience with cash flow modeling and investment valuation techniques  
• Ability to produce well designed professional looking Powerpoint presentations  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Location - based NYC or LA

Salary Range - $200,000 - $250,000
