About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on, analytical, and entrepreneurial Strategic Finance Analyst to help shape the financial future of our growing startup. This is a high-impact, highly visible role where you’ll lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and general accounting processes to help drive Vapi’s next phase of growth. You’ll partner directly with leadership to translate strategy into numbers, optimize spend, and ensure the financial health of the business.

You’ll work across FP&A and accounting functions—building financial models from scratch, improving close processes, and supporting leadership with insights that guide real business decisions. What You’ll Do

• Planning, Forecasting & Budgeting

  • Lead annual and quarterly budgeting processes, collaborating with founders and department heads

  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve forecasting models for revenue, expenses, and cash flow

  • Develop multi-scenario models to evaluate new product launches, hiring plans, and pricing strategies

  • Monitor budget adherence and update forecasts based on evolving business conditions

• Business Partnering & Decision Support

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, translating complex data into actionable recommendations

  • Provide insights into spend optimization, unit economics, and operational efficiency

  • Support growth strategies such as new market entry, customer acquisition plans, and cost management initiatives

• Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Perform variance analysis between actuals and budget/forecast, identifying key drivers of performance

  • Build KPI dashboards and prepare monthly financial summaries for leadership and the board

  • Track and report on key metrics like CAC, LTV, gross margin, and payback period

• Fundraising & Strategic Initiatives

  • Support investor reporting, board decks, and fundraising financial models

  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate capital needs and growth strategies

• Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Partner with the Head of Finance and external accounting firm to ensure accurate month-end and quarter-end closes

  • Maintain and reconcile key balance sheet accounts and expense reports

  • Support accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations as needed

  • Assist with the implementation and improvement of accounting systems, controls, and reporting tools

Who You Are

• 3+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, accounting, consulting, or a related role

• Strong financial modeling skills in Excel/Google Sheets; able to build dynamic models from scratch

• Solid understanding of GAAP principles and experience supporting month-end accounting

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to distill insights from complex data

• Clear, concise communicator—especially when translating financial information for non-finance audiences

• Self-starter comfortable operating in a fast-paced, early-stage environment

• Nice-to-have: experience in a SaaS or tech startup, familiarity with FP&A tools, and exposure to fundraising or board reporting
