We are looking for qualified and passionate individuals to help us in the mission of addressing issues like housing, mental health, and substance use. Department of Health Services - Office of Diversion and Reentry seek qualified candidates to fill emergency Staff Analyst, Health Services vacancies related to the homelessness crisis.
Under the emergency order, applicants who meet the requirements may be hired for an initial period of up to 90 days, with an opportunity for permanent County employment.
Before your initial work period ends, you will be assessed on your work performance. This assessment will be weighted 100%.
Those who successfully pass the assessment will be considered for permanent appointment as Staff Analyst, Health Services.
ABOUT LOS ANGELES COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES:
The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS) is the second-largest municipal health system in the nation. Through its unified system of 23 health centers and four hospitals, as well as its expanded network of community partner clinics, DHS annually provides direct care to over 500,000 patients, employs more than 23,000 staff, and has an annual budget exceeding $8.4 billion.

DEFINITION:
Researches, analyzes, and makes recommendations regarding the use and deployment of resources and the implementation and refinement of operations and programs having department-wide impact within the Department of Health Services.
CLASSIFICATION STANDARDS:
Positions allocable to this class are restricted to the Department of Health Services administration and are distinguished by their responsibility for serving as technical experts and consultants to management in major health service areas. Positions analyze and make recommendations for the effective use of resources and personnel, the implementation and improvement of programs and operations, and the refinement of management practices and policies having department-wide impact. Positions in this class also perform special assignments and projects, as directed.
Examples of duties
- Analyzes department services and make recommendations on contracting-out for such services, develops Requests for Proposals as appropriate, receives and evaluates bids, selects vendors, and coordinates transition of County programs to private vendors.
Researches and develops contracts with the private sector for the performance of major department-wide functions
