About the role
This position is located in our Downtown Nashville Corporate office.
Position Summary:
A successful accountant combines excellent analytical and organizational skills to provide support to the accounting/finance team. You will be responsible for accurately reconciling various general ledger accounts and answering questions from internal team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with reconciling correspondent bank accounts either daily or monthly
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations as assigned and ensure the timely resolution of reconciling items
- Review and process daily reports as assigned
- Accurately post entries to the general ledger
- Ensure policies/processes are documented, projects are prioritized and business objectives met
- Collaborate with others across multiple departments and lines of business
- Continuously analyze current business work flows and productivity/efficiency results in order to seek process improvements.
- Assume responsibility for other related duties as required or assigned
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business
- 2 - 4+ years of banking operations/accounting experience
Other Skills and Abilities
- Must be accurate, flexible, organized and able to independently manage multiple priorities while meeting assigned deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong knowledge of Excel and proficient in accounting software
- Communicates effectively with all levels of bank employees
- Problem resolution skills
- Reliability, flexibility, professional etiquette and sound judgment are important
