In this role in our beautiful Longmont, CO offices, we are looking for a motivated Staff Engineer to join our growing Enterprise SSD Validation Engineering team as a Lead Engineer. We work as an integral part of our enterprise SSD development and validation process, ensuring our products are timely to market and of outstanding quality in the field!
You will partner multi-functionally and cross-site with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and other engineering groups to collaborate in developing strategies to complete validation. As a leader you will have the ownership of products, developing test plans, and driving activities across all segments of the SSD Validation organization to ensure our products meet customer requirements by design.
What’s Encouraged Daily
Technical Ownership
- Serve as the domain authority for validation of customer test requirements, associated industry certifications, and results.
- Build and implement test plans, coverage, and testing activities to drive both increased effectiveness and efficiencies across the product portfolio.
- Recommend and instrument new validation approaches that drive better coverage, more accurate testing, and expanded testing services.
- Apply technical, project, and delegation experience to actively lead product test cycles across all SSD Validation.
Requirements Analysis
- Plan test schedules or strategies per project scope and delivery dates
- Firmware maturity levels that unblock incremental test capability as products are delivered against a delivery plan.
- Study of product requirements to verify testability and identify suitable testing equipment.
- Feedback and influence product design for the definition and implementation of new requirements/ performances.
Validation Strategy
- Definition of test cases to verify functional and non-functional requirements comply with system requirements.
- Working with design for test cases developing coherently with FW and HW architecture
- Identification of PASS/FAIL criteria in terms of the number of cycles, statistics, and temperature.
- Enable shift-left efforts to move the detection of failures from customer tests to internally developed and maintained test frameworks.
Test Implementation
- Define the Test Implementation Strategy and Software Architecture to encompass both development and debugging.
- Define and complete a test automation strategy, to facilitate product firmware releases and supervise progression in maturity, pass rate, and percent execution vs. plan.
- Constantly evaluate, refine, and implement validation processes/methodologies.
Test Execution
- Execution of Product Validation flow to match programmed validation plan.
- Monitoring of test time – Test time reduction.
- Results analysis – Bin Pareto.
- Report Generation - Report data in a clear format including concise comments about findings.
- Track document revision to provide historical reference.
Defect Management
- Work in partnership with the Product development teams to provide root cause and drive failure analysis coming from upstream/downstream validation teams, customers, and other partners to closure, while also articulating the associated risk.
- Implement detailed steps to reproduce failures while providing traceability to the bugs/gaps/escapes.
