We are seeking for a dynamic Sr. Software Engineer to join our team. This role uniquely blends technical leadership, architectural expertise, and hands-on coding. As a Player/Coach, you'll be able to influence a team of engineers, design and implement software solutions, and contribute to the development of new features and products, making a significant impact on our technology direction and growth. Position works on-site and reports to our offices in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The right person for this role will be highly technical and analytical, often acting as a designer, developer, and communicator. The ideal candidate is equally obsessed with delivering the best possible customer experiences and leading and building strong relationships within the team which includes engineers, partners, leaders, and a broad set of stakeholders. This seasoned developer will be able to think long-term, advocate for strong engineering excellence, and bring forth their own software development best practices.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and implement applications across various platforms.
- Dive into the codebase, actively contributing to software solutions using Java, Spring Framework, Node.js, Axios, CSS, HTML5, React.js, and Material UI.
- Lead architectural decisions and design considerations for larger system components, ensuring scalability and alignment with growth.
- Showcase your technical expertise by owning critical components and systems, actively evaluating and adopting new technologies that align with our goals.
- Collaborate hands-on with the team, participating in code reviews, and drive quality, consistency, and adherence to best practices.
- Engage in knowledge transfer sessions, sharing expertise by helping develop a cohesive, high-performing team.
- Actively participate in operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting, ensuring reliability and performance.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and practices.
- Other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field required.
- Seven (7) years of proven software development experience, focusing on Java and distributed systems required.
- Minimum education and experience required can be substituted with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
- Deep & robust understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with greenfield development and thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong understanding of SOA/Microservices and implementation experience.
- Proficiency in Full Stack Development, building scalable, secure, and efficient software.
- Knowledge of security compliance and operations, with a focus on data protection and system security.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, thinking strategically and acting tactically.
- Strong communication skills, articulating complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Passion for technology, a willingness to learn, and a drive for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Specific Tech Stack knowledge in: Java, Spring Framework, Node.js, CSS, HTML5, React.js, Material UI & AWS Solution Architecture – Full Stack.
- Legally authorized to work in the US is required. This position is of indefinite duration and requires candidates to have permanent or ongoing work authorization.
- Employee is responsible for maintaining eligible work authorization throughout his tenure with the organization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field highly desirable.
- Previous leadership experience, preferably in a startup environment.
- Deep knowledge of Infrastructure Security, Security Compliance and Operations.
- Deep Knowledge of distributed systems, solutions, and database architecture
