Sr. Operator

The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a dedicated and skilled Sr. Operator to optimize our Chemical Manufacturing team, delivering results against some of the most complex business and technology initiatives.

The team 

Avantor’s Chemical Manufacturing team is part of our Performance Materials unit. This team supports the innovation and growth objectives of major laboratories across the globe by helping with the integration of new technology solutions into their lab processes and operations.

What we’re looking for 

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred
• Experience: 2+ years related experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience
• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPC, Hazwoper, and other governmental regulatory requirements
• Working with waste generation, classification, and disposal

How you will thrive and create an impact 

The Sr. Operator will be working independently and in coordination with the Lead Operator of  Manufacturing or Supervisor. They are responsible for the accurate and compliant manufacturing of various silicone products, utilizing a variety of automated and semi-automated equipment and processes. 

• Operate mixing machines, coating machines, and cutting and packaging machines under SOP and GMP guidelines
• Will perform basic trouble-shooting and maintain equipment cleanliness
• Interfaces and works with engineering and senior manufacturing personnel in identifying and implementing process improvements and process validations
• Reports to immediate supervisor
• Under close supervision, may set up and operate a variety of machines in order to produce materials
• May deliver raw materials and intermediates to production sites and/or keep departments clean and orderly
• Assists in a variety of routine duties in the operation and preparation of equipment and materials
