Position Description:
LeoStella is looking for an experienced senior project manager with a strong background in managing electrical assembly development, manufacturing, and test to oversee our cross-program electrical engineering portfolio. This could include new development projects, vehicle proposal support, and serial production of products for spacecraft. The ideal candidate will thrive on leading cross-functional teams, from pre-contract and specification to delivery.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support multiple programs by leading a cross functional team of engineers and supply chain managers responsible for delivering electronic assemblies from proposal through satellite delivery.
Work alongside Product Technical Lead to define and manage technical development and production plans.
Coordinate and resolve cross-functional trade studies, design decisions, and development challenges to meet requirement while maintaining target cost and schedule. Disciplines include systems engineering, mechanical, thermal, electrical, software, production, and supply chain.
Daily tasking of project team members in accordance with development and production plan
Create and maintain project schedules and drive team to meet key milestones while defining and monitoring key metrics.
Triage program priority conflicts and negotiate program deadlines to clearly define teamwork plan to meet commitments
Support the customer deliverables such as specification compliance, schedule, program reviews, and design reviews.
Develop and maintain an IPT staffing plan/forecast consistent with program budget and schedule and work with organizational leadership to ensure program is staffed to plan.
Use and maintain company tools for task management, schedule maintenance, ERP planning - example JIRA, Confluence, IMS, ERP workflows
Lead and maintain quality assurance plan, metrics, and root cause corrective action.
Create, own, and maintain dashboards providing status visibility to program office.
Identify best practices, lessons learned and opportunities for process improvement. Document, train and implement best practices across multiple programs.
Required Skills:
Ability to work self-directed, seeking out and solving issues; small and large problems alike - rather than being told where to look.
Demonstrated product development leadership skills with an emphasis on aero or space electronics products.
Experience with electronics assembly manufacturing and test
Ability to understand technical problems and synthesize status and determine path forward
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
Strong ability to manage a diverse team of engineers, suppliers, and production teams and achieve technical agreement both internally and within customer teams
Qualifications:
BS in a relevant technical field – advanced degree preferred
