Solutions Engineering Manager Senior

As a Senior Manager for Capital Group’s Client Experience Team (CXT), you will be responsible for shaping and executing the strategy to deliver the vision for the Sales Data and operations ecosystem.

You will lead a team that builds and manages a suite of Customer profile, Sales attribution, and territory management capabilities. Capital sales and operations teams rely on these capabilities to segment, target and attribute activity and sales crediting on an on-going basis. 

The Sales territory and compensation planning is a key part of business development and incentive system.

You will collaborate with the Product Management team, senior marketing/sales leaders, and technology associates to create and implement detailed quality technical designs for applications using existing and emerging technology platforms.   

In this role, you will lead a team of 20+ Software Development Engineers and Software Development Managers and be responsible fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.  You are a player-coach, passionate about our mission, and committed to driving exceptional experiences through the application of modern engineering and data management methods.

In addition, you will be responsible for:

• Collaborating with the CXT leadership team, clients, and other cross functional teams to understand business needs and translate into actionable, forward-thinking, scalable technology solutions​. Identifying and evaluating emerging technologies, tools and platforms to enhance technical capabilities.  

• Evaluating and optimizing current portfolio of technology and delivery partners based on capabilities, expertise and in alignment with Capital Group’s requirements​. Monitoring vendor performance against agreed-upon SLAs and KPIs, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations​.  

• Establishing and promoting standards, methodologies, and best practices within the Sales data and operations global capability’s domain.   

• Establishing and enforcing technology governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices​. Conducting regular technology risk assessments and implementing appropriate controls to mitigate potential risks and vulnerabilities​.  

• Motivating and inspiring engineers to work toward common goals and ensuring shared understanding of roles in achieving CXT’s vision​. Lead, mentor and build high performing teams that embrace diversity and bring varied perspectives; provide clear expectations, regular feedback, and career development opportunities​.  

• Establishing clear performance metrics for your team; regularly assessing progress and providing recognition for achievements

Qualifications:   

• You have extensive prior experience as a software engineer, with a solid understanding of software engineering best practices (e.g. Agile software development, test-driven development, unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, etc.)   

• You are an experienced manager of software engineers, preferably with experience leading multiple teams through other managers.
