As a site reliability engineer on our team, you’ll work with the US government and its affiliates on the development of more robust systems by building a resilient infrastructure. You’ll build in redundancy, implement monitoring tools, and automate wherever possible. You’ll reduce toil by scripting routine tasks and automating self-repair.  This is your chance to leverage your expertise in monitoring and observability while assisting junior engineers and broadening your knowledge base. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:

• 4+ years of experience in the field of information technology
• 2+ years of experience deploying and managing infrastructure in AWS environments including EC2, EKS, ECS, and Lambda
• 2+ years of experience administering a logging solution such as OpenSearch or ElasticSearch and Logstash
• 2+ years of experience monitoring and alerting for Applications and Infrastructure with Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, OpenSearch, CloudWatch, or an Enterprise equivalent such as Dynatrace or DataDog
• Experience with applying core SRE practices and principles including observability, defining SLOs/Error Budget, evaluate production readiness, post-mortems, and reducing toil
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and automation tools, including Terraform or CloudFormation
• Experience with Git repositories and CI/CD concepts and leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to configure AWS Cloud environments
• Experience with or more programming or scripting languages such as Bash, Python or JavaScript for automation purposes
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
• HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

• Experience implementing, and operating a secure multi-tenant centralized log ingestion pattern and Elastic and OpenSearch Cluster in AWS that includes ETL and distributed data pipeline management
• Experience with Kubernetes and helm charts
• Experience applying advanced SRE Practicing and Principle such as capacity planning, cost optimization, chaos engineering, self-healing architecture, advanced alerting techniques
• Experience with Knowledge Management systems such as Confluence and related documentation skills
• Experience with Agile methodologies, SDLC, and working in an Agile development environment
• Experience on how to make systems fully observable, manipulation and transformation of telemetry, and monitor distributed complex architected systems across separate regions
• Experience Integrating monitoring to ITSM tooling such Service Now, Jira Service Desk, Pager Duty or equivalents
• Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and AWS services
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Possession of excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills
