Sewing Machine Maintenance

  Essential Functions:

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

· Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on productions machine; able to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; trouble shooting malfunctions.

· Able to locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices, etc.

· Fabricates or can direct the repair of parts, by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.

· Needs to have the initiative to trouble shoot and respond with minimal guidance.

· Ensure consistent and quality work product in a timely manner across the entire department.

· Duties may require sitting, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, stepping over items, twisting, lifting, reaching, or bending, pushing, pulling, repetitive motions and stooping for periods of time. You will consistently be required to use your hands with fine manipulation and use various tools.

· Good written and verbal communication skills

· Mechanically inclined with good manual capabilities.

· Electrical experience is preferred

· Previous experience (3yr min) maintaining and repairing industrial sewing machines including Juki and Consew brands.

· This person must also be willing to assist others in the sewing department when time is available (i.e. folding, cutting, measuring, moving items etc.).

Requirements

  Skills/Qualifications: 

· Minimum of five years of responsible experience in mechanical equipment maintenance and repair.

· Language Skills: Ability to follow verbal directions and written process instructions.

· Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
