Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an AVE Dynamics Engineer / Principal Dynamics Engineer. This role will be located in Roy, UT. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You'll Get To Do:

As part of the Sentinel AVE Loads & Environments team you will get to perform loads development (primary structure and component level), shock and vibration environments determination and component and system level testing and data evaluation.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.


You’ll Bring These Qualifications:


Engineer Structural: Bachelors degree in Engineering or relevant technical field and 2 years of relevant experience with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters
Principal Engineer Structural: Bachelors degree in Engineering or relevant technical field and 5 years of relevant experience; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD


Required for both levels:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance

  • Knowledge and/or experience with static and structural dynamics analysis of spacecraft, aircraft, or missiles

  • Proficient in programming and use of MATLAB (or equivalent) for analysis and data manipulation

  • Proficient in Nastran (or equivalent)

  • Professional knowledge of missile and/or spacecraft structures, statics, strength of materials, structural dynamics principles, and methods

  • Experience evaluating designs using rigid body or flexible body analysis methods and tools

  • Proficiency with modern substructure modeling and assembly technology and component mode synthesis methods such as Craig-Bampton sub structuring

  • Experience in the planning and execution of static, vibration, acoustic, modal, and shock tests for aerospace flight hardware

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent disciplines (e.g. systems engineering, aerodynamics, stress analysis, design, test) in a highly integrated team environment

  • Ability and experience owning tasks, and driving the team to closure quickly, and efficiently.


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:


• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Structural Mechanics program or equivalent from an accredited college/university
• Experience working strategic or tactical missi
