Senior Test Engineer

This company's mission is to offer the quickest, easiest path to orbit for payloads. Their technology streamlines satellite missions, utilizing readily available satellite buses to launch payloads within months, allowing customers to focus on their data.

They are looking for a Senior Test Engineer with 5+ years of experience in the aerospace manufacturing industry to build tools and processes to ensure product quality and layout technical requirements for verification and validation strategies.

Requirements

Core responsibilities

• Develop testing protocols, procedures, and instrumentation for both electrical and mechanical flight hardware.
• Create automated testing setups, tooling, and ground support equipment to streamline production and testing processes.
• Perform testing, ensure its validity, and train team members on approved procedures and equipment operation.
• Diagnose hardware and equipment problems, analyze test data, and prepare/review test reports and related documentation.
• Collaborate with mission managers, operations teams, and others to align test programs with timelines and budgets.

Required

• B.S. in Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in the aerospace manufacturing industry
• Experience with developing and conducting environmental tests (acoustic, EMI, thermal, thermal vacuum, shock, vibration, etc)
• Experience with test equipment and instrumentation (manual and automated testing)
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, CAD models, mechanical drawings, etc.
• Experience with system design, requirements management, and integration / test functions
• Experience with Python, Lua, MATLAB or VBA

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged sitting and/or standing
• Occasionally working with hazardous chemicals, tools and/or equipment (solvents, hi-pot testers)
• May occasionally require working in uncomfortable positions and/or dangerous environments (during test setup/teardown inside a thermal chamber)

Ideal candidate

• Experience creating test plans
• Experience with certification testing (NASA, FAA, DoD)
• Experience with Electrical Ground Support Equipment and automated test equipment
