ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Senior Security and Systems Administrator is responsible for effectively provisioning, operating, and securing cloud and on-premises infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to ensure that Teague adheres to NIST standards and best practices.
The Senior Security and Systems Administrator will assist project teams with technical issues in the initiation and planning phases. This includes defining requirements and benefits, developing the technical strategy, and supporting the operations staff in executing a smooth transition to production. This role also supports maintaining all operating systems, network, and server hardware. The Senior Security and Systems Administrator will also assist in developing Teague’s IT strategy in collaboration with the Director and Manager of the IT department.
WHO YOU ARE:
As a Senior Network and Systems Administrator, you have over five (5) years of experience managing complex cloud hybrid environments. You have a strong background in VMware, hybrid storage solutions, and backup/disaster recovery strategies. You excel at designing and maintaining secure infrastructure, ensuring systems are protected, resilient, and aligned with NIST, GCC, and CMMC compliance standards. With advanced skills in Windows server security, LAN/WAN troubleshooting, and SIEM tools, you proactively identify vulnerabilities, implement solutions, and keep critical data safe.
In addition to your technical expertise, you take pride in being a collaborative communicator who can effectively translate complex IT concepts for stakeholders at all levels. Whether leading a cybersecurity audit, mentoring team members, or coordinating system improvements, you focus on driving continuous improvement and ensuring seamless operations. You thrive in environments that require both technical precision and strategic thinking, and you’re committed to building secure, efficient systems that support organizational success.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- OWNING
- Conduct regular reviews to ensure effective monitoring of the environment and to support capacity planning.
- Coordinates annual cybersecurity audit and is responsible for remediation and reporting on all vulnerabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including listening, evaluating, participating in technology discussions, and making recommendations.

- Identifies and resolves conflicts between strategic objectives and security requirements to maintain system integrity and performance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to understand emerging technologies.
- Helps implement IT best practices focusing on continuous improvement; Research and recommend changes and improvements to existing systems and processes, including automated approaches to administrative tasks.
- DOING
- Designs, coordinates, and communicates network system architectures to ensure alignment with business strategy and security standards.
- Develop a governance model and implement NIST infrastructure and security standards.
- Documents standard installation, configuration, maintenance processes and procedures.
- Implement security solutions that protect IP and project data, ensuring patches and upgrades are applied per the maintenance schedule.
- Assist with the development, documentation, testing, and updating of the business continuity and disaster recovery plan.
- Provides Tier 3 support to the IT team and mentors other team members.
