The Core Video Team is responsible for building all playback-related functionality in Peacock products. We work closely with the application teams in Sky Go, NOW TV, Sky Sports, NBCU TVE, SkyShowtime and others to ensure that common functionality is built in a reliable, scalable and efficient way.
We build a video SDK which our colleagues across NBCU and SKY use to achieve effortless video playback on Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Samsung TV, LG TV, PlayStation, Xbox, Roku, Chromecast and other devices.

Peacock is looking for a Quality Engineer to join a team ensuring high quality of video playback experience across a wide range of devices. You will become a part of an engineering team building video players and video playback capabilities, streaming content to millions of customers
Responsibilities:
- Create test plans/packs and execution within Zephyr – Test Management Tool
- Liaising with project product owners to clarify player behavior.
- Provide knowledge and share throughout the team.
- Management of test results and reports
- Regular liaisons with project teams to understand test requirements.
- Drive Improvement throughout the team
- Represent the QA team in project/progress/status meetings.
- Implement tests to analyze the health of backend video services.
- Monitor and implement performance tests for potential bottlenecks.
- Mentoring of junior Quality Engineers.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of hands-on Quality Engineering experience
- Industry experience and a successful track record in video players testing web, mobile and Cross TV applications.
- Awareness of streaming technology, AV codecs, DRMs
- Knowledge of color space, bit depth, and HDR systems
- Familiarity with streaming protocols (HLS/DASH)
- Experience with H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, VP9, AAC video and autio codec standards.
- Excellent programming skills in Javascript/Nodejs or equivalent and coding skills in python/go/java. Experience on building automation frameworks like pytest/testNG is a plus.
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies, test practice and terminology
- Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills and a focused, determined,
pro-active attitude. - Experience using Test management tools: ideally Zephyr and fault logging tools; ideally GitHub or JIRA
- Strong knowledge of Charles/Fiddler or other debugging proxy tools
- Excellent trouble shooting skills with the ability to analyze logs.
- Experience with performance/load testing frameworks
