Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, Front Store Emerging Innovation leads the end-to-end identification, evaluation, and pilot validation of emerging technologies that improve front store performance and colleague workflows. This role owns the Innovation Lab and pilot governance model to assess solutions across primary technology themes including but not limited to: inventory and on-shelf availability management, pricing and promo technology, and the colleague mobile device and functionality roadmap. This role develops ROI/value models, defines success KPIs, stands up proofs of concept (POCs) and in-store pilots with vendors and CSC partners, and delivers executive-ready recommendations to prioritize decision making and scale. The Senior Manager also maintains the operational testing lab environment and leads governance for in-store hardware allocations and functionality.
Responsibilities:
Own and maintain the front store emerging technology roadmap across areas such as on-shelf availability/inventory, pricing and promotions, and colleague mobile capabilities.
Build ROI and value-realization models to prioritize technology investments and support go/no-go decisions.
Design, launch, and manage POCs/pilots with vendors and CSC partners, including test design, KPI definition, measurement plans, communications, training materials, and final readouts.
Operate and optimize the Innovation Lab environment, including device/software configuration, standards, inventory management, and refresh cycles, while managing lab resources to support testing.
Translate pilot learnings into implementation requirements, partner with stakeholders to inform scaling decisions, and drive rapid, high-quality implementation of approved technologies.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience working in retail or a similar operating model, with a strong track record of creating new process and technology solutions in fast-paced environments (retail experience a plus)
5+ years of experience building and leading high-performing teams, including end-to-end project management from initial concept through launch, and driving operating procedure innovation through root cause analysis and problem solving
Proven ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans aligned to organizational goals, with a demonstrated track record of leading effectively through ambiguity
5+ years of experience using strong communication and influencing skills to collaborate with cross-functional team members and key stakeholders, support change management, and move colleagues through adoption of new processes; demonstrates high emotional intelligence
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), ability to be highly effective in a hybrid work environment, and willingness to travel up to 25% based on business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years of experience thinking strategically and developing long-term plans that align with organizational goals and objectives
8+ years of experience leveraging strong communication skills to influence and collaborate with team members and key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
8+ years of end-to-end project management experience, leading initiatives from initial concept through successful launch
8+ years of experience creating and launching technology solutions in fast-paced environments (retail launch experience a plus), including partnering with vendors to scope and execute pilots, define requirements, and build delivery plans
Advanced proficiency with analytics tools, such as SQL, for data analysis and reporting
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$82,940.00 - $182,549.00
