The Copper Mountain mine currently produces approximately 100 million pounds of copper equivalent per year. With a future mill expansion and the integration of New Ingerbelle, the Copper Mountain Mine is expected to produce approximately 140 million pounds of copper equivalent per year over the first 20 years of its 32-year mine life based on reserves. The Opportunity

Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst - Operations at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5x2, Monday to Friday, day shift schedule. This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring approximately 20% of time to be spent onsite or traveling to Princeton for work-related purposes. The remaining 80% of responsibilities may be completed remotely, providing flexibility while ensuring essential in-person or travel commitments are met.

Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors.  Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.

 

 

Summary

Reporting to the Finance Superintendent or designate, Senior Financial Analyst – Operations ensures accuracy and completeness of operational accounting financial information through the timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, reconciliations and analysis that support the direction, strategies and action plans necessary to achieve the full potential of the assets available to BCBU. Responsibilities 

Execution of BCBU Operations Accounting:

• Undertakes month-end processing for assigned operational areas (including services and admin areas). Prepares journal entries consisting of both routine and irregular adjustments,
• Reviews cost reports for completeness. Records, reviews and explains cost variances. Investigates and corrects errors,
• Prepares analysis in readable formats including waterfalls,
• Support the team to perform financial analysis and prepare scenario models requested by operating areas,
• Support Capital Analyst in AFE submissions and aids operational areas with AFE preparation when reque
