Job Description

Curinos is looking for an experienced and results-driven Sr. Engineering  Manager to lead the development of a new, cloud native (AWS) SaaS Product. You will be responsible for managing a team of engineers and architects to design, develop, implement, and maintain our next-generation, cloud-hosted application stack. Your team will be responsible for developing secure, highly performant, scalable, and resilient data pipelines using Apache Spark, creating scalable Java-based microservices, and developing a modern Angular-based UI. You will be responsible for creating and leading a team to develop industry-leading highly scalable analytics platforms consisting of data engineers, software engineers, platform architects and qa engineers who can develop functionalities for various complex business requirements and also successfully maintain and operate the product.

This product serves our financial institution customers and includes a robust BI and Analytics platform enabling pricing strategy, portfolio optimization, flow of funds analysis, and proprietary peer comparative analytics. In this role, you will work closely with product management, analytical leaders, and senior engineering leadership to build new innovative products, introduce new cloud technologies, hire and mentor/coach team members and execute an ambitious product roadmap.

This position is a remote/hybrid position, with the ideal candidate working remotely from the tri-state area and/or be able to travel to our Manhattan or Toronto office occasionally for working sessions or team meetings.

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Director of Engineering to develop and lead a team responsible for building and launching a new SaaS application with ambitious revenue targets.

The salary range is $180k to $200k.

Qualifications

Technical Qualifications

Candidates should have the following technical skills:

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering and cloud architecture
• Mastery of Data Engineering, Software Engineering and ML best practices
• Knowledge of Spark internals and distributed computing
• Experience with data heavy products, using Spark and Scala for ELT and ETL processes
• Demonstrated expertise in architecting and implementing complex business logic and data transformations
• Experience launching SaaS platforms on a public cloud (AWS preferred)
• Experience working with Databricks-based ETL processes
• Proficiency in Scala, Java, SQL and Python
• Experience developing and managing products with Java based microservices and single-page apps like Angular
• Experience building modular, scalable, and configurable solutions with an eye towards cost-optimized and efficient operation

Management Qualifications

Candidates should also have the following management skills:

• 5+ years of management experience handling team(s) of 10+ people
• Proven experience developing and leading a strong engineering team capable of designing, building, and maintaining a comprehensive SaaS application stack.
• Experience leading high performing, geographically dispersed technical teams

Other Qualifications and Characteristics

• Bachelors or advanced degrees (e.g., MS), preferably in Computer Science or other related engineering field
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Self–discipline and willingness to learn
• Ability and willingness to be “hands-on-keys” as needed to facilitate development of the product
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of machine learning techniques and embedded AI is a bonus
