What’s the role?

Within Etsy's central Enablement organization, Experimentation Platform & Science team focuses on making experimentation faster and more robust for Etsy. We develop self service tools that are being consumed by our Machine Learning, Analytics, Engineering and Product partners.

We are looking for an experienced leader who can help build Etsy’s next generation experimentation platform. In particular, this role will focus on the frontend and backend of our platform that we are in the process of modularizing.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Engineering, Experimentation Platform and Science and the base salary range will be $197,000 - $257,000 USD per year. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.

For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States, however candidates living within commutable distance of the Etsy Brooklyn Hub, or within the San Francisco area, will be the first to be considered. Even if located within commuting distance of an office, you will have the option to work office-based, flex, or remotely.

What does the day-to-day look like?

• Manage a team of 4-6 front-end and back-end engineers: hire, manage performance, assign tasks, provide technical guidance and ensure that projects are completed on time.
• Align the team's output with broader organizational objectives and assess inter-team dependencies to optimize for efficient and autonomous operations.
• Perform detailed architectural reviews, with a focus on system scalability and decoupling strategies.
• Build and maintain close working relationships with stakeholders (primarily Product Management, Design, Data Science and Analytics), ensuring that the platform meets the needs of its users.
