As a Senior Database Engineer, you’ll be a part of highly collaborative, cross-functional Scrum teams within the ECG Software Solutions group.
Your role:
Design, develop, and implement database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.
Create and optimize stored procedures, triggers, functions, and views to support application development and business requirements.
Utilize AWS RDS to deploy and manage scalable, highly available relational database instances in the cloud.
Perform database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
Implement and utilize database performance monitoring solutions/tools to proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks, resource utilization, and capacity planning.
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to understand database requirements and deliver effective solutions.
Develop and maintain documentation including database design specifications, data dictionaries, and operational procedures.
Participate in database capacity planning, backup and recovery planning, and disaster recovery procedures.
Stay abreast of emerging database technologies, trends, and best practices.
You're the right fit if:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
3+ years of experience as a Database Engineer, Database Developer, or related role.
Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and RDS (MySQL) database management systems.
Strong SQL programming skills with experience in writing complex queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
Experience with database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with database performance monitoring solutions/tools such as [e.g., SQL Sentry, Datadog, etc.].
Familiarity with AWS RDS and the ability to deploy, manage, and optimize relational database instances in the cloud.
Knowledge of database design principles, normalization, and indexing.
Experience with data security, encryption, and access control mechanisms.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty) is a plus.
