Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM PSTWork hours may be adjusted to support 24/7 operations with additional team members.
Total Weekly Hours: 40 hours
Our client is seeking a Senior AWS & Linux Engineer to be the foundational hire on their global engineering team. In this high-impact role, you’ll lead the technical delivery of cloud services, work hands-on with infrastructure and automation tools, and set the standard for DevOps excellence and client support.
This is a leadership-track position with the opportunity to build and manage a team of engineers over time.
Key Responsibilities
First 3–6 Months:
Audit existing infrastructure, automation, and monitoring tools
Provide a report with improvement recommendations and lead implementation
Execute client change requests, upgrades, and infrastructure migrations
Provide after-hours support for critical issues (U.S. off-hours)
Help recruit, mentor, and lead future technical hires
Ongoing Duties:
Manage and enhance AWS infrastructure (EC2, VPC, IAM, Control Tower, RDS, etc.)
Administer Linux systems (Rocky, RedHat, CentOS)
Maintain hybrid cloud connections using OpenVPN and mobile VPN setups
Use Ansible (preferred) and Terraform for automation and infrastructure as code
Write and maintain deployment and internal tool scripts in Python, Bash, and Shell
Support web hosting and services (Plesk, WordPress, WooCommerce, email relays, WHMCS)
Collaborate using Monday.com and Slack
Monitor systems using NewRelic, Securi, StatusCake, and PagerDuty
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in a Cloud Engineer, DevOps, or Linux SysAdmin role
Expert-level hands-on experience with AWS (Console, CLI, API, VPC, IAM, Control Tower)
Strong Linux system administration (Rocky, RedHat, CentOS)
Proven use of Ansible (Terraform experience a plus)
Proficiency in scripting: Python, Bash, Shell
Familiar with VPN tools, especially OpenVPN
Excellent communication and customer support skills
Ability to work independently and make strategic technical decisions
Preferred (Bonus) Skills
AWS and/or Red Hat certifications
Experience with Windows Server
Familiarity with WHMCS, Plesk, WordPress, WooCommerce
Experience mentoring or leading technical teams
Background in MSP or managed services environments
