Senior Accessibility Specialist

Role: Senior Accessibility Specialist (Onsite)
Location: Princeton, NJ
Role Type: Full Time (Contract option is available as well)

Technical Skills Required

• Proven track record of directly advising clients about inclusive design and digital accessibility standards and best practices.
• Expert knowledge of W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, The Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 508, evolving accessibility standards and VPAT.
• Core understanding of web development technologies and how they impact the user experience.
• Experience developing user interfaces and PDF documents is a plus.
• Skilled with HTML, CSS, and WAI-ARIA (JavaScript a plus).
• Adept at conducting manual accessibility testing of websites, mobile apps and digital products using assistive technologies such as screen readers (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) and magnification software.
• Experience with automated accessibility testing tools and how to interpret/prioritize results.
• Proven ability to develop and offer technical solutions, training and guidance to web developers, designers, and software engineers.
• Knowledge of standards that apply to accessible multimedia.
• Ability to create accessible electronic documents (MS Office, GSuite, PDF).
• Prior experience with project management platforms (such as Asana and Basecamp), collaboration platforms (Slack) and bug-tracking systems (Jira).

 
Huge Plus:

• IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC).
• Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) Certification.
