Assists and supports scientific investigation to study {can include type of research being investigated here} as directed; independently conducts
assigned experiments; performs a variety of molecular, cellular, and biological research techniques and procedures including PCR reactions, gel
electrophoresis, assays, cell cultures and Northern and Western analysis; sorts and processes tissue and blood samples; tests and evaluates current procedures and provides feedback to research team; performs routine procedures on lab animals; maintains and oversees animal breeding colonies and/or transgenic mouse colonies; assists with care of lab animals; oversees and maintains accurate records of laboratory activities.
Records, consolidates and assists with analysis of research results; assists in evaluating validity of data obtained from experimental procedures;
summarizes data for inclusion in grant proposals, manuscripts and professional presentations; prepares research progress reports; assists principal
investigator with the preparation of publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts; conducts library research on requested topics through
researching current literature.
Assists with training of junior research staff, and undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation; sets up and
operates laboratory equipment; monitors research supply, including specimens, inventory and initiates procurement requests as needed; other duties as
assigned.

Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
Required Qualifications
2-3 years of relevant experience required. 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred.
