About the Access and Delivery Services Department
Access and Delivery Services (ADS) streamlines the resource discovery-to-delivery experience for UO students and faculty. Employees in the department work with stakeholders to continually enhance the library's primary discovery system, Primo VE, and coordinate the management and configuration of the Alma Library Services Platform. They also open and close library facilities, provide public service, circulate material, manage course reserves and circulate equipment collections, fulfill interlibrary loan and document delivery requests, maintain physical resources, oversee study rooms and common areas, and supervise public computing services. ADS personnel operate across multiple locations including the Knight Library, Design Library, Mathematics Library, Oregon Institute of Marine Biology Library, and Price Science Commons.
The Resource Delivery Services (RDS) team in ADS monitors and fulfills interlibrary loan, local hold, and Scan & Deliver requests. They are area experts for Alma Resource Sharing and Rapido, digital fulfillment, and local requesting.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Head, Resource Delivery Services, this Library Technician 3 serves as an area specialist for RDS-related technology and operations. They use their advanced proficiency and comprehensive knowledge of resource sharing to process routine and non-routine requests, administer training, gather and synthesize data, compile reports, troubleshoot and report problems, and complete various other specialized and administrative tasks that require a high level of non-routine decision making, good judgment, expertise, and independence.
