Overview

Research Lab Coordinator -  Stony Brook Psychiatric Associates, UFPC  Location: Stony Brook, NYSchedule: Monday-Friday; 8:30 AM - 5 PMPay: $25.60 - $31.97Our compensation philosophy aims to provide marketable compensation programs and to compensate employees based on relevant experience and education. Salaries vary depending on experience, education and current market for the position. Human Resources determines the external and internal equitable salary for each employee.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY: This position requires the incumbent to provide administrative support to the Practice.  This position is essential to ensure efficient operation of the office. You will support managers and employees through a variety of tasks related to organization and communication within and outside the department.

 

Job Duties & Essential Functions:

  • Assists in identifying patients for ongoing clinical trials
  • Helping with miscellaneous projects including tracking, patient flow in clinical research programs
  • Collect, monitor and aid in the analysis of patient data
  • File mental health and administrative correspondence for the MBCRC
  • Supervise volunteer students
  • Assist providers in group psychotherapy programs
  • Update and maintain databases.
  • Support clinical projects and quality improvement initiatives
  • Assist with budget tracking for research clinic and ongoing clinical trials
  • Proof reading and drafting memos and applications
  • Process IRB submissions, continuing reviews, and modifications
  • Act as a liaison for grants management, IRB concerns, external research sites, and institutional research compliance
  • Organize research presentations for major conferences and facilitate study recruitment materials
  • Assist with drafting manuscripts and conducting literature reviews as needed
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Three years Administrative/Clerical experience.
  • Must have excellent expressive and written communication skills.
  • Must be highly organized.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (preferred) in a research-related field (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Public Health, or a similar discipline).
  • Familiarity with SPSS, SAS, RStudio, or other statistics software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Prior experience 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. This position is largely sedentary and requires the employee to remain stationary for a majority of the day. Any additional physical demands will be outlined and provided by management.
