Position Summary: 

The Applied Behavior Analysis Division at the College of Graduate and Professional Studies has an opening for a Program Research Faculty member for Distance Learning. The Applied Behavior Analysis Division includes the Post-bachelor’s Certificate program, the Post-master’s Certificate program, the Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis program, and the PhD in Behavior Analysis program. Over the course of the academic year, the faculty member will be responsible for chairing theses, applied projects, and dissertations, producing scholarship, teaching, student advisement, participating in in-person residencies, and engaging in professional service to the school and community, and administration.   

While program faculty members are fundamentally responsible for teaching in accordance with The Chicago School's workload policy, adjustments to an individual's teaching load may be made by the Department Chair based on the program’s need first and individual talents and abilities second.  

Principal Duties include, but are not limited to: 

Scholarship (44% flex with Professional Service):  

• Complete scholarship activities including qualitative/quantitative research, presentations at professional conferences, scholarship-based community service, research grants, etc. 

• Chair student research projects (dissertation, theses, applied projects, or a combination of all three). 

• Provide guidance and oversight related to the selection of topics for student research projects. 

• Provide corresponding content area and research expertise in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis. 

• Mentor students by providing guidance and oversight on timeline management, writing expertise, IRB submission, and methodology assistance. 

• Provide timely and rigorous feedback and evaluation on student research projects.  

• Assist students with choosing dissertation committee members with the right subject matter and methodological expertise to assist them in their research projects. 

• Help students prepare for their proposal and final defense.
