Amentum has an opportunity for a FEMA National Flood Insurance Program Regional Liaison to join our team on our Federal Government contract in Region 10 which includes (Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho)

The Homeland Group provides a range of homeland security and law enforcement program management services and program support services to Federal, state, and local agencies. The Homeland Group is looking for an experienced insurance industry professional to support the FEMA National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) as the Liaison of a FEMA Region. The Regional Liaison will act as a Subject Matter Expert to support flood insurance inquiries and help NFIP stakeholders (policyholders, insurance agents, community officials, realtors, condominium associations) identify information and solutions to issues.
The successful candidate will have at least 7 years of relevant experience with the National Flood Insurance Program. They must live within FEMA Region 10 which includes (Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho)
Essential duties and responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:
- Attend annual Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) headquarters-based training for communicating the NFIP in disasters assist stakeholders with flood policy issues.
- Attend by phone or webinar quarterly meetings with NFIP headquarters communications program staff, in addition to routine meetings with FEMA Regional Offices Brief insurance agents, realtors, local officials, and other stakeholders after flood events as directed by the COR and in coordination with the Regional Insurance Specialist and other FEMA disaster response activities, including Joint Field Offices.
- Brief insurance agents, realtors, local officials, and other stakeholders after flood events in coordination of with other FEMA activities/personnel.
- Conduct outreach to NFIP stakeholders, including the real estate community, condominium associations, homeowners associations, etc.
- Coordinate disaster activities with headquarters NFIP disaster management team and regional disaster response activities.
- Participate in conferences, town halls, public forums, and other events.
- Participate in FEMA Regional Office meetings as requested.
- Participate in one FloodSmart 101 webinar to gain an understanding of national resources/materials available.
- Deploy periodically for up to 3 weeks to support Post-Disaster NFIP activities, including promoting NFIP participation through local officials and assisting at disaster response offices.
- Provide data and data analysis to the FEMA Regional Offices in responding to Congressional inquiries.
- Research and address FEMA Regional Office inquiries via phone, email or written correspondence.
- Respond to FEMA’s Ask the Expert website inquiries when issues are specific to their assigned region.
- Support Community Rating System activities in local communities in coordination with Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration (FIMA) and other regional stakeholders.
- Support continuous SOP improvement in coordination with other team members.
The Basic Qualifications for this position are as follows:
- At least 7 years directly relevant experience, with direct experience supporting flood related insurance work and/or flood insurance stakeholder engagement either in the private insurance sector, for FEMA, or a relevant State-level insurance regulator.
- Prior experience supporting FEMA NFIP as a contractor and/or Federal Employee strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years of job-related experience, or a high school diploma and fifteen (15) years of job-related experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the government clearance / suitability determination as required to work on the program. U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain suitability.
- Holding a FEMA Public Trust within the past 12 months is strongly preferred.
- Must reside within FEMA Region that you work in (Region 10 which includes Alaska, Washington, Oregon or Idaho
