We currently seek a qualified candidate for the role of Quality Manager in our Aerospace Division at our facility in Seattle, WA. The ideal candidate will have seven years of precision machine parts experience AND five years of quality management experience within aerospace along with strong metrology, leadership, and problem solving skills.
Purpose:
Responsible for the supervision, implementation and maintenance of the companies quality assurance program as related to, but not limited to, fabrication, assembly, delivery operations and other related activities in our aerospace business unit to ensure complete quality assurance is provided.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain Quality system (ISO 9001/AS9100) in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Resident expert in metrology.
• Responsible for First Article Inspections .
• Prepares corrective actions and analyzes trends.
• Supervise and train technicians in quality standards.
• Train and audit operators in quality standards and inspection methods.
• Manage and assist with receiving inspection, final inspection, and testing.
• Supervise and train others in the operation of Coordinate Measuring Machines.
• Able to work long hours as necessary to support the team.
• Advise and train others in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), MBD (Model Based Definition), and DPD (Digital Product Definition).
• Ensure identification and traceability of product from receipt of materials through shipment to the customer.
• Liaison with customer’s Quality Department.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing regarding quality issues. *Program and Operate CMM Machines as necessary.
• Responsible for DPD Derivative data (Sketches) used for Final Acceptance of Product.
• Annual review of Direct Reports with emphasis on tracking goals and improved performance
• Responsible for interviewing new hires and scheduling of Direct Reports.
• Ensures the adherence to company safety and health standards, policies and procedures by monitoring personnel, machinery and work environment.
• Immediately notify supervisor and/or Safety Manager of any safety and health concerns and problems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
High school degree or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in Quality, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a similar field is preferred.
• Seven years of precision machine parts experience.
• Five years of quality management experience.
• Strong metrology, leadership, and problem solving skills.
• Working knowledge of current ISO 9001 and AS9100.
• Experience in training and mentoring others in use of metrology equipment.
• Experience and Knowledge in CMM Programming platforms and Enovia (PC-DMIS Preferred).
• Demonstrated experience developing corrective and preventative action plans.
• Strong sense of responsibility, initiative and teamwork.
• Advanced PC skills are expected for (Spreadsheets, Word Processing, Data analysis, MRP).
