Job Description
We're looking for engaged, creative, and visionary associates to join our production engineering team within the SMG (e-motors for electric vehicles) team!
As we prepare for production launch, we'd like to grow our team with a manufacturing quality engineer to support our safe launch. Key deliverables associated with this role include:
- implementation of quality firewall for incoming compounds, work in progress, and finished goods;
- lead engineering change management for both components and finished product;
- KPI improvement, specifically those associated with scrap and defect costs;
- management of inventory; and
- quality system management in the value stream, including documentation preparation and control, audit preparations, and claims management.
As our assembly lines are highly automated, familiarity with manufacturing and production systems is vital for success in this role.
Qualifications
Principal responsibilities of this job include:
- Implement technical firewall in the value stream -- ensure zero failures at launch with a robust quality system;
- Problem solving and root cause analysis on serial production quality issues;
- Coordination of engineering risk assessments across the value stream;
- Administer and coordinate change processes across the value stream for new material and product designs;
- Manage excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory;
- Preparation of control plan and associated verification & audits;
- Participation in daily value stream management using MES to meet targets and derive measures to continuously improve performance; and
- Organization and coordination of 8D activities in case of customer claims.
The qualified applicant must:
- have successfully completed a B.S. or higher degree in an engineering field (in or similar to industrial, mechanical, electrical / computer, or materials science engineering)
- be a self-starter and innately curious, with the ability and willingness to dive into and lead development of technical processes
- have minimum three years’ experience in automated, industrial manufacturing
- have had exposure to quality management systems, including FMEA moderation
- be comfortable working in crossfunctional activities and teams
- be willing to travel domestically and internationally
Strong augmentation of the candidate profile would include existing hands-on experience with:
- Enterprise resource planning software (e.g. SAP);
- Concessions or ECR processes;
- Problem solving methodology (e.g. Shainin, Kepner-Tregoe);
- Data analysis tools (e.g. tableau, PowerBI)
- Internal QMS tools and processes (e.g. MP206, MP308; MatCH; RACE)
