Quality Inspector B

General Function:

 

Perform a wide range of inspection functions in accordance with approved procedures and/or instructions

 

Primary Responsibilities:

• It is every BPM, Inc. Employee’s responsibility to be aware of and work with Belvac’s current documented Quality Management System as it pertains to their job requirements
• Perform a wide range of inspection functions in accordance with approved procedures and/or instructions.  These functions include but may not be limited to:
• Receipt Inspection to include staging of parts and materials
• In Process Inspections
• First piece
• Final
• Final Inspection
• Assembly Inspection
• Process Surveillances
• Other duties as assigned

 

Skills and Knowledge Required to Perform Job:

 

Basic Inspection Skills:

• Able to perform basic inspection using Micrometers, Calipers, Indicators and basic hand gauges
• Blue Print Reading
• Basic Math skills
• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
• Basic PC skills
• Microsoft Windows
• RFCA & Receipt inspection databases
• Performing inquiries on ERP systems
• Performing and document process surveillance activities

Coordinate Measuring Machine Skills:

 

• Load and run programs on Direct Computer Control (DCC)-CMM
• Perform basic inspection on manual CMM, which as a minimum should include:
• Probe calibration, part alignment, setting origins, rotating alignments, measurement of part features, verifying part dimensions with data output from CMM.  Measurements to be two dimensional, in XY Plane.

Education:

• High school graduate or GED

 

Experience:

• 2 years experience as a quality inspector in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work all shifts and travel on a continuous seven-day work cycle if needed
• A working knowledge of Mathematics, Geometry and Trigonometry
• Basic CMM skills
• Visual acuity to perform inspection, read gauging and perform visual inspections
