Quality Technician

SUMMARY OF ROLE:
Performs quality testing and makes routine disposition decisions on existing and developmental bags, film, and fitments (depending on dept assignment) using test methods common to that department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an at-will employer, SIG (formerly Scholle IPN) reserves the right to add to or modify this list to the extent it deems necessary.
- Conducts physical property testing using established test procedures.
- May occasionally develop or work on special test procedures to understand product performance or a complaint cause.
- Be able to follow the calibration system for test equipment in their department or area.
- May handle and respond to customer complaints.
- Write basic reports to respond to customer inquiries or complaint issues.
- Understands quality control plans and test procedures.
- Can understand and react to SPC chart data.
- Inspect incoming parts and compares certificate of analysis comparisons against specifications as required. Update data tracking ā electronic or paper systems.
- Work with BAAN system and paper records to assist in tracing lots in investigations or recalls.
- Understands, manages, and follows non-conforming product procedures.
- Can disposition hold material in routine lower risk situations.
- Understands and is able to use electronic hold system and procedures.
- May prepare certificates of analysis or conformance as required.
- Oversee and understand any re-work or re-inspection procedures.
- May occasionally visit or work with customers to assist in resolving quality issues.
- Follows 5S standards for work area.
- Contributes to Kaizen event.
- Assist and support other departments as requested.

YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or G.E.D required.
- 3+ years of similar experience in related field.
- Manufacturing background, preferably.
- Intermediate or Advanced computer skills required.
- Microsoft Office skills are necessary (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio).
