Position Title: Quality Assurance Specialist- Xactly / Systems Testing

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quality Assurance Analyst to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and usability of our Sales Compensation SaaS application. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and executing test plans, identifying and documenting issues, and partnering with development teams to drive timely resolution. Your contributions will be essential in safeguarding data integrity, validating complex business logic, and ensuring consistent system performance that our customers can depend on. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience testing SaaS applications, strong test design skills, and a passion for improving product quality through structured validation and continuous feedback. A strong working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is essential for this role.

Location: This is approved to be Remote or Hybrid in the Newport News, VA area, per Company Policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, document, and complete detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and functional requirements for Xactly and related systems.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) across multiple releases to ensure software meets business and technical requirements.
  • Identify, log, and track software defects through to resolution using issue tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other partners to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, Developers, and Product Owners throughout the SDLC phases (requirements, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance.
  • Participate in requirement reviews and provide input on testability of requirements and potential risks.
  • Conduct regression, performance, and usability testing as needed.
  • Drive automation initiatives to increase testing efficiency and support continuous improvement of QA practices.
  • Provide clear and concise feedback on test results, system performance, and data quality.
  • Maintain and update test documentation and QA metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of QA or software testing experience, preferably in SaaS or enterprise applications.
  • Strong knowledge of test design techniques, software development and defect lifecycle management, and test execution.
  • Experience with sales compensation, financial, or HRIS systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with Xactly (Incent, Connect, Analytics) is highly desirable but not required.
  • Proficiency with tools like JIRA or similar defect/test management tools.
  • Solid analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Xactly Incent/Connect/Analytics testing or configuration experience.
  • Experience in testing web and mobile applications.
  • SQL/querying skills for validating data.
  • Understanding of API testing and tools.
  • ISTQB or other QA certification is a plus
