About the role

Expectations: AESC is seeking a highly talented Project Manager-Programs to take the lead on large-scale ground-up Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) projects, contributing to our mission of advancing energy sustainability. This role presents the opportunity to work on never-before-built production lines, pushing the boundaries of cell production volume at an unprecedented scale. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management:
    • Validate and review schedule during each phase of the project.  Construction through SOP.
    • Manage, maintain, and challenge overall budget requirements with all respective functions from construction through manufacturing equipment.
    • Communicate and liaise with operations during system design, construction, installation, and commissioning.
    • Track, schedule, develop, and present overall project funding requirements to executive committee based on project requirements and/or scope change.
    • Foster an innovative environment within your team and among those within the EPC contractor to drive AESC's success.
  2. Strategic Planning:
    • Coordinate and oversee all critical path activities, taking the lead in resolution/mitigation for key project challenges.
    • Provide strategic input into the organization and construction requirements, positioning our teams for future growth and success.
    • Report construction progress and risks to the Project Director, identifying and mitigating construction-related risks, tracking potential field change orders, and addressing potential claims or disputes.
  3. Documentation and Quality Assurance:
    • Secure necessary resources to support construction supervision and implement safety plans.
    • Participate in contracting strategy development and vendor selection where required.
    • Review contractors' deliverables to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  4. Communication:
    • Develop milestone plans and executive overview on current and future project scopes.  Ensuring clear vision of past accomplishments and future requirements.
    • When the Project Director is not on-site, serve as the single point of contact with local stakeholders, project team, and executive leaders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related Engineering field.
  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience working for leading global companies in supervising and managing large industrial projects with a capital expenditure exceeding $100 million.
  • Advanced knowledge and a proven track record of successful delivery in CSA/MEP, Project Management, and Program Leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with challenging timelines and goals.
  • An inquisitive and open attitude towards exploring new ideas and a willingness to continuously learn.
  • Capability to train and mentor colleagues on best practices for project management and execution.
  • Graduate studies in project management or business are highly valued.
