At our facility in a Cascades mill location (US-based), you can develop your full potential, sustainably, by applying your expertise within the Tissue Group – Capital Investments Team as the Project Manager:

 

Key Responsabilities:

 

Capital Portfolio Support

  • Support the 3‑year capital investment portfolio for multiple U.S. mills.
  • Assess, prioritize, challenge, and recommend initiatives to the Capital Investment Committee.
  • Ensure governance, documentation, risk management, budget management, and alignment across all investments.
  • Provide strategic visibility on risks, budgets, progress, and portfolio scenarios.

Project Management

  • Lead medium‑ to large‑scale industrial capital projects (typically $0.5M to $20M+) from concept to start‑up.
  • Develop project charters, execution plans, procurement strategies, and cost estimates.
  • Manage scope, schedule, capital budgets, resource allocation, and change control.
  • Ensure rigorous cost control, risk management, and value engineering across project phases.
  • Deliver projects on time, on budget, and in line with operational expectations.

Engineering & Technical Leadership

  • Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams to develop technical deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, equipment specifications).
  • Support equipment and technology selection to optimize performance, safety, energy efficiency, and reliability.
  • Validate CAPEX estimates and challenge design assumptions constructively.
  • Implement engineering and asset‑management best practices.

Procurement & Contract Management

  • Lead or support RFP preparation, supplier evaluation, and contract recommendations.
  • Manage engineering, construction, and equipment supply contracts.
  • Oversee fabrication, logistics, site installation, and major equipment deliveries.

Field Execution & Commissioning

  • Oversee on‑site construction activities to ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
  • Coordinate contractors, internal teams, and operational partners.
  • Lead commissioning and transition to operations.
  • Conduct post‑project reviews and contribute to continuous improvement.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including operations, maintenance, engineering, safety, finance, procurement, and environmental.
  • Prepare and present project status updates, financial analyses (ROI, NPV), and risk assessments to leadership teams.
  • Maintain strong communication and documentation practices.

Travel

  • Occasional travel to U.S. mills and supplier locations is required.
  • On‑site presence may be necessary during construction phases and planned shutdowns.

Experience and Requirements :

 

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, or related field).
  • Professional designation (P.Eng or equivalent) ― strong asset.
  • PMP certification — asset.
  • A combination of edu
