JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The Project Estimator has functional responsibility for developing estimates for site and Major Projects in support of Project Delivery Systems requirements and for directing, communicating, and providing feedback to the corporate Estimator.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide onsite performance of the estimating process and provide support to site project managers to ensure consistency in estimate development and procedure adherence.
- Develop project estimates for site and Major Projects, including Financial View Estimating Tools (FVET) and evalutation model development in support of the Project Delivery System requirements.
- Utilize standard Entergy estimating tools and procedures to ensure cost data tables and unit rates are updated appropriately.
- Ensure estimates are supported with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), assumptions, alternatives, and other supporting documentation, to ensure consistency, accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures.
- Update estimates as required during the project life cycle and ensure impacted stakeholder’s reviews and approvals are included with the project documentation file.
- Develop/maintain/produce metrics/reports which monitor performance, such as estimating quality, estimating aging, estimate compared to actual recorded cost, etc.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
BS degree in Engineering, related technical degree, or equivalent experience. Equivalent Experience is defined as 6 years of estimating experience associated with power plant operations and/or major projects.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OF THE POSITION
Estimator (Nuc): A minimum of 6 years of experience in estimating, nuclear power, and/or major construction projects.
Estimator, Sr (Nuc): A minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating, nuclear power, and/or major construction projects.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED OF THE POSITION
- Fully versed with cost control principles and techniques.
- Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Software, especially Excel.
- Proficiency with current computer business applications.
- Understanding of the engineering change process.
- Understanding of the craft building trades structure.
- Desired: Proficiency with estimating software.
ANY CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, ECT. REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION
Desired: Professional certifications such as PMP, CPE, or CEP.
