Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections is seeking a Criminogenic Programming Specialist (Official Title: Program Project Specialist 2) who will be working under the direction of the Youth Program Supervisor, responsible for planning and executing training activities for staff who work directly with youth. This includes using the "train the trainer" model to ensure that staff are well-versed in various therapeutic programs such as ART (Aggression Replacement Training), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), and the 7 Challenges. Serve as the subject matter expert, this position will provide specialized knowledge and guidance on these therapeutic models and any other programs that may be developed or vetted for the youth population. This role includes overseeing the implementation of these programs to ensure they are delivered with fidelity. This means monitoring the success of the programs being executed and making sure adherence to the intended protocols. This position will ensure that opportunities for growth & development are ongoing and assist in the development of continuous case planning for Youth Program Officers, ensuring that the planning process is effective and tailored to the needs of the youth. This position will be involved in evaluating the effectiveness of current programs and exploring new opportunities to enhance the services provided to the youth.

Job Duties:

-Identify the specific training needs of the staff based on their current skills, knowledge gaps, and requirements of the programs
-Conduct surveys, interviews, or focus groups with staff and supervisors to gather insights
-Review program goals and staff performance metrics
-Present the training content in a manner that is engaging, informative, and applicable to the staff's daily responsibilities.
-Use a variety of instructional methods such as lectures, demonstrations, role-playing, and group discussions
-Incorporate case studies, simulations and hands-on activities to enhance understanding and retention
-Tailor the delivery style to accommodate different learning preferences and ensure that the material is relevant to the specific roles of the participants
-Ensure that staff can effectively apply the training content to their work with youth; provide feedback and support to reinforce skills
-Assess the effectiveness of the training and gather feedback for continuous improvement
-Use quizzes, surveys, and practical evaluations to measure learning outcomes and effectiveness. Solicit feedback from participants on the training     content, delivery and applicability
-Analyze the feedback to identify areas for improvement; provide continued support to ensure that the training is effectively applied and that staff have access to additional resources as needed.
-Offer one-on-one or group coaching sessions, fidelity checks to address any challenges or questions that arise after training. Provide access to additional materials, refresher courses, and support networks
-Maintain accurate records of training activities and outcomes to ensure accountability and facilitate future planning
-Document training sessions, attendance, and participant progress. Prepare reports on training effectiveness, staff development, and program implementation to share with stakeholders
-Work with Youth Program Officers to teach and train case plans in collaboration with the youth, their families, and relevant stakeholders; ensure that case plans are individualized and address the specific needs, goals, and circumstances of each youth
