The Zillow PPO team drives effective ways of working within product development that promote collaboration, create opportunities for inspection and enable rapid decision-making to deliver on the product strategy to “get more people home”.About the role
Seeking an experienced Enterprise Principal Program Manager who has successfully led the development, implementation, and scaling of standard agile methodologies in product development across teams.
Driving our cross-product, engineering, design and marketing ways of working, you will:
Define shared ways of working across product development teams, including:
Developing, socializing and launching definitions of “ready” and “done”
Defining roles and responsibilities across product development teams with varying compositions (1:1 and 1:multiple - product manager:dev team, teams with and without TPMs, various levels of design and marketing support, and teams that support digital products with varying levels of offline/operational components)
Developing a product development “how we work” playbook for how teams work in Zillow, including large scale launches across many product teams, to be leveraged by existing, and onboarding teams and individuals
Partner with the product development portfolio tooling team to:
Define processes and tooling for dependency management across product teams
Define standard processes for planning, Jira usage, running retros, etc.
Support planning, road mapping and coordination
Develop simple, sustainable product development best practices grounded in reality that:
Leverage the elements of agile and other frameworks that best address Zillow’s unique challenges
Balance elevating our product development with giving teams the autonomy to optimize how they operate
Coach a handful of individual product development teams and lead workshops for the greater product development organization on how to become higher performing by:
Helping teams identify and address challenges and roadblocks that may be hindering their progress
Offering solutions and techniques to overcome obstacles based on research and experience
Improving team problem-solving capabilities
Ensuring that teams can navigate complex organizational structure effectively
Partner closely with Engineering and Design Operations to drive overall product development excellence.
Build strong partnerships based on trust with peers and senior leaders alike.
Lead change management and encourage the adoption of new approaches in a highly matrixed organization by collaborating with operations, Learning and Development, and remote work teammates.
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $173,300.00 - $276,800.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.Who you are
8+ years of experience in technology companies driving organizational transformations
Worked with multiple mid-size or large B2B and B2C companies to uplevel teams’ best practices and ways of working to deliver across teams operating under waterfall, agile, scrum, kanban frameworks.
Someone with expertise in change management who has successfully worked with product, engineering, marketing, and design teams in consensus-driven corporate cultures.
Has prior experience and success in taking a product from initial conception through develop
