As a Principal Content Designer within the Global Design team, you will work alongside your cross-functional peer group to influence strategic design decisions and ultimately deliver stellar end-to-end experiences across platforms and form factors.
You will report to the Senior Director, Design Workshop and be a member of our diverse Global Design team where we use our design and research skills to inspire and influence across the company. We believe that different perspectives and backgrounds inside our team lead to innovation and inclusion in our product design. Meet our team:
The Workshop team is the advanced product design team within PayPal and will focus on conceptualizing, prototyping, and testing next-generation experiences. Expect an immersive, fast-paced environment, overseeing multiple projects, while flexing your skills as an effective communicator — especially when it comes to relaying creative concepts to our design teams and company stakeholders.
Your day-to-day:
In your day-to-day role you will:
- Lead Content Design with a focus on best practices, processes, and customer needs
- Guide Content Design efforts across the teams your work influences, from planning to strategy, editorial and content management, working with cross-functional partners to remove blockers and presenting effectively to senior staff and stakeholders
- Drive and extend the use of content best practices, including narrative frameworks, verbal identity guidelines, style guides, patterns and assets in the creation of UX deliverables
- Contribute to the wider UX community, mentoring others, leveraging your strengths to help others grow
- Drive content research and use insights to influence content strategy and storytelling that influences product direction
What you need to bring:
- 10 to 12+ years in Content Design or UX roles, bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in the study of creative writing, information management, design, research, or related fields or equivalent professional experience
- Thorough command of the content design discipline and common tools and methodologies, with deep, direct experience in UX writing, content strategy, information architecture, content systems, accessibility, and facilitation of workshops
- Experience leading delivery, through feedback, content design critique, presentation to program sponsors, planning and coordinating with partners where needed
- High degree of craft, taste, and product intuition, with a keen eye toward future trends, emerging technology, and shifting customer expectations
- Experience managing multiple projects and working through ambiguity, working cross-team and synthesizing feedback from multiple teams/owners
- Compelling speaker and storyteller who knows how to present content strategy in a way that included and influences at all levels
