PreBatcher Utility- 3rd shift

Assist the processing department by processing batches by pre-weighing, blending, and staging small quantity (typically 50 pounds or less) ingredients. This position is responsible for accurate record keeping of quantities and lot codes of ingredients used in batches using SAP.

Hourly Rate: $24.70

Key Result Accountabilities

• Adheres to company safety, conduct sanitation, and follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) in all areas of responsibility
• Follows established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
• Ability to perform Pre-Batch functions of scooping and weighing ingredients
  • Understands and adheres to proper scaling techniques
  • Ability to safely set up and operate ingredient processing equipment (grinders, can openers, mixers etc.) as well as material handling equipment (powered pallet lifts, WAVE, fork truck etc.)
• Keeps Pre-Batch area clean and organized
  • Takes out trash and cardboard as needed
  • Properly seals and tags all ingredient containers
• Uses SAP to confirm goods receipts, order confirmations and transfer materials to and from the warehouse for the Pre-Batch staff to weigh and or process
• Uses First Expiry First Out (FEFO) rule for ingredient picking
• Responsible for ingredient reconciliations and scrap reporting
• Uses SAP to properly assign batch codes to ingredients used in Pre-Batch
• Sets up paperwork and schedules for upcoming blends
• Responsible for being a participant on plant teams and committees
• Responds to change productively, and handles other duties as needed
• Performs other tasks as requested by supervisor

Qualifications

• Positive Mental Attitude
• Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate with associates
• Has good math and measuring skills
• Has a positive approach to challenge solving
• Performs work in a safe and timely manner with minimal direct supervision
• Capable of performing math and proficient with calculator
• Computer competency to use SAP system
• Knowledge of BVF Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)

Environmental Working Conditions

• Employee must comply with all safety policies and safe work procedures established by the company.  Job tasks may also involve:    
  • Using personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, goggles, gloves, and other equipment as established in company policies and safe work procedures. Compliant with the uniform policy.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds, anything over should seek assistance
  • Frequent carrying, bending, standing, sitting, and repetitive motion
