Job Overview
This is a full-time role for a People Operations Specialist based in Washington, DC. The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for managing HR functions, developing and implementing HR policies, and overseeing employee benefits and personnel management. Daily tasks include assisting with recruitment, on-boarding, managing employee records, employee relations, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Duties

  • Hit the ground running by developing a mind-blowing onboarding program that gets new hires fired up and ready to make their mark from day one.
  • Own and iterate on various HR processes, including benefits administration, leave management, and employee record-keeping.
  • Partner with managers and new hires to build out 30-60-90 day plans and create a virtuous feedback cycle with our talent team.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and assist with basic HR-related questions and requests.
  • Collect and organize employee feedback and engagement data to help identify areas for improvement.
  • Support additional People Operations processes as needed, such as recruitment administration and HR reporting
  • Support employer branding efforts across social media and job platforms.
  • Jump in where needed to keep people operations running smoothly — you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of HR, recruiting, or operations experience
  • Extremely comfortable with technology; you can navigate new tools and platforms with ease; an excel sheet is child's play
  • Comfort with HR software and tools — or a quick learner who’s excited to master them.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills and a people-first mindset.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to take on new challenges in a growing company.
  • Interest in building a career in HR and growing alongside a fast-paced team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships across all levels of the organization.

Preferred

  • Strong knowledge of organization design principles.
  • Proficiency in Workday, ADP, and other HRIS systems.
  • Ability to effectively manage social media for recruitment purposes.
  • Knowledge of current employment laws and regulations.
