Part-Time Lecturer in Developmental Biology (23240865)

Hong Kong Baptist University invites applications for a part-time lecturer to join our dedicated team in the Department of Biology. We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic educator to contribute to the undergraduate teaching of our Year 4 Developmental Biology course. This role presents an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to inspire and engage with a class of approximately 50 students, sharing the latest insights and discoveries in the field of Developmental Biology. The language for teaching is English.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver lectures and coursework for the Developmental Biology course (Course Code: BIO4027);
• Assess and provide timely feedback on student assignments, projects, and exams;
• Collaborate with faculty members to continuously improve the curriculum and contribute to the academic life of the department; and
• Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities as required.

Requirements:

• A PhD degree in Developmental Biology, Genetics or a closely related field is required;
• Prior teaching experience at the university level is highly desirable;
• Proven ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and engagingly to students;
• Familiarity with current pedagogical methods and a willingness to incorporate innovative teaching approaches; and
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment for a diverse student body.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
