Role:

It Takes A Village Leadership Academy (ITAVLA) is seeking a responsible and caring individual to serve as a part-time Bus Attendant for the afternoon route. This position involves supervising students on the bus to ensure a safe and orderly ride from school to their designated drop-off points. The Bus Attendant will assist the bus driver with student management and help students safely exit the bus at the end of their day. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet students as they board the bus after school and ensure they are seated safely.

• Monitor student behavior during the bus ride and enforce school bus rules.

• Assist young students, particularly those in kindergarten through 2nd grade, with seating and safely exiting the bus.

• Ensure students remain seated and are following safety guidelines during the ride.

• Communicate with the bus driver regarding any safety concerns or student behavior issues.

• Support students with special needs, if applicable, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the ride.

• Assist students during emergency bus evacuations and practice drills.

• Maintain a positive and caring environment on the bus while enforcing safety guidelines.

• Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and students as needed.

Required Education & Training 

• Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting is preferred.
