JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Overview:
Senior Oracle Database Administrator- Senior – Data Management supporting client, Office of Corporate Information Systems to provide Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Support Services of their Corporate Business Systems (CBSOM). As the Database Administrator – Perform systems database administration support services for client applications. This support will be for all environments including, but not limited to, Development, Sandbox, Test, Performance, Training, and Production.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Perform database administration support services for Client Financial System (Oracle E-Business), Procurement System (Unison PRISM), Budget Systems (Oracle Hyperion), Data warehouse/Business, Oracle iPortal (WebCenter) and other Databases supporting client applications.
- Perform Oracle Fusion Middleware product installs, patching, upgrade, troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Setting up and maintenance of oracle Single sign on, Oracle OID, Oracle OAM.
- Identify database requirements for each system by analyzing applications and operations, as well as evaluating existing systems to support operational optimization through data integration and data architectural changes.
- Recommending and implementing database security policies
- Recommending and implementing database backup, recovery, redundancy strategies and support disaster recovery related operations as needed
- Implementing automated monitoring to ensure proactive handing of issues.
- In collaboration with CBS and the OCIO Perform random database health checks and prepare a quality assurance and performance review that includes business requirements, testing, upgrades, architecture storage modifications, and adjustments.
- Provide break/fix support to include activities necessary to identify and resolve production defects and implement systems stabilization changes.
- Recognizing areas for improvement in the systems and team
- Taking appropriate action to initiate changes, installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining database instances.
- Continuously monitor the databases for storage space, availability, and performance
- Clone Oracle databases across servers and networks as needed.
- Patch Management and Version Control
- working independently to perform database performance analysis, capacity planning, system sizing and ongoing maintenance.
- Maintain system documentation, including baseline configurations, installation, upgrades, security, and event logs.
- Work with system owners and CBS security staff to provide input for annual Authorization & Accreditations (A&A) and ATO
- Establish and maintain SOPs to assure database security, integrity, and accuracy.
- Provide support for internal and external data calls.
- Review and provide feedback to system owners on the quarterly Critical Patch Updates (CPU) that come from Oracle. Coordinate with system owners and OCIO on the testing and implementation of these patches across all environments
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or relevant discipline from an accredited institution with 8 years relevant experience in Oracle Federal Financials and Unison Prism. Without a degree 9-10 years of relevant experience is required. Two thirds of the experience need to be as a database administrator supporting ERP applications, with managing Oracle and Prism implementations being preferred.
