Job Description
Operations Processor 5 within Cash Applications is an experienced individual contributor responsible for processing and resolving moderately complex operational transactions with a high degree of accuracy, timeliness, and risk awareness.
This role serves as a key contributor to operational stability by independently managing exception work, applying sound judgment within established procedures, and supporting consistent service levels across payment posting, reconciliation, and reporting functions.
The position requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Process daily cash application transactions.
o Checks received via mail
o Lockbox online payments
o Electronic payments – monitoring email box and preparation of application instructions for ACH credits & Wires
o End of Lease payments
o Resolve exception batches
o Review ACH Debit Authorization forms for completeness and activation
o Monitor and resolve payments in the CAT system
• Monitoring shared email boxes – responding to and resolving inquiries
• Complete morning and end of day balancing activities
• Conducts research on discrepancies and makes appropriate corrections or adjustments
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all work, meeting quality standards and service level expectations
• Support testing or implementation of process or system changes as needed
• Participate in process improvement efforts, reporting enhancements, or workflow updates
• Collaborate with other U.S. Bank business lines on misdirected payments
• Identify recurring issues, inefficiencies, or process gaps and escalate findings
• Support cross-training efforts to maintain operational coverage and flexibility
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Four years or more of operations services related work experience
- Proven ability to research and resolve exceptions independently
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills applied to transactions and discrepancy resolutions
- Ability to interpret procedures and apply judgment in non-routine scenarios
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working across multiple systems and operational workflows
Location expectations
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
