Requirements

Education/Experience/Skills

  • Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from a regionally accredited college or university.

Computer Skills:

  • Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Internet, and Database software.
  • Certificates and Licenses:

NYS License as an Occupational Therapist; Registration through the NBCOT.

 

Who are we: Wildwood School, A part of Wildwood Programs, provides a comprehensive educational program for students with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities to prepare them to be as independent as possible. Academic, social, employment, and functional skills are taught to each student as driven by their Individual Educational Plan (IEP), needs, and interests.

Who We Are Looking For:
Wildwood Programs, a proud provider of multiple services for people with disabilities, is looking for an Occupational Therapist to work in our school, who embraces our mission of “strengthening the well-being of people with disabilities and their families through innovative supports.”

The Successful candidate will enjoy working in a special education school environment to provide individual and group OT; and be passionate about finding and employing innovative ways to promote and maximize students’ potential.

 

Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Completes in-depth diagnostic evaluations of students’ functioning related to achieving success in school and presents findings
  • Develops and implements effective occupational therapy goals, techniques and lessons
  • Supervises the work of up to 3 certified occupational therapy assistants, according to regulations
  • Works with students holistically by integrating goals across program areas
  • Works collaboratively with teams to share techniques and solve problems
  • Maintains records as required by NYSED regulations, law, established policies, and administrative regulations



 

Qualifications

 

Other Requirements

A valid New York State Driver’s License and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required.

Required to complete, pass, and use CALM training, provided by the school, which includes deescalation strategies and approved protective holds and movements for students.
