Network Lead Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Network Lead Engineer to oversee our networking team and serve as a key liaison between technical staff, business units, and leadership. This role combines leadership, hands-on technical expertise, and strategic alignment to ensure our network infrastructure supports organizational goals and delivers secure, reliable connectivity.

The Network Lead will mentor engineers, manage projects, and partner with IT leadership to enhance performance, security, and scalability of network operations.

Responsibilities

• Strategic IT Planning: Support the development and execution of long-term IT strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and cross-train network engineers, ensuring a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Project Management: Partner with the PMO to allocate resources, oversee tasks, and ensure successful delivery of IT projects.
• Budgeting: Assist with budget planning, cost analysis, and optimization of hardware, software, and services.
• Network Operations: Ensure stability, security, scalability, and disaster recovery readiness of network infrastructure.
• Information Security: Collaborate with security teams to implement robust safeguards, maintain compliance, and mitigate risks.
• Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships, review SLAs, and monitor performance to ensure cost-effective solutions.
• User Support & Training: Oversee user support, resolve issues, and recommend training to boost technical skills.
• Policies & Procedures: Help develop and enforce IT policies and standards to ensure consistency and best practices.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase IT efficiency and user satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of hands-on networking experience with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or team-lead role.
• Expertise with enterprise networking (LAN/WAN, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, wireless).
• Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, or equivalent enterprise networking technologies.
• Strong understanding of information security principles and compliance frameworks.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and communicate effectively across business units.
• Relevant certifications (CCNP, CCDP, CompTIA Network+, CISSP, etc.) preferred.
