Safety – Promote safety first and foremost

  • Zero recordable incidents, write ups or safety infractions in your department
    • Unsafe acts and hazardous conditions are communicated and addressed immediately
      • Enter incidents using the Incident reporting tool on the Portal
      • Report all incidents to Supervisor
      • Enter safety work requests in Datastream
      • Assist Supervisor in accident investigation
      • Conduct SWP’S with operators/helpers
  • Mentor all crew members in all areas of safety compliance
    • Includes assisting in JSP/SOP reviews and development with operators
    • Follow all safety guidelines and rules

      • Rules of Conduct
    • Ensure machine safety check list for operator and helpers is completed

  • PPE assessment for operators/helpers
    • Conduct PPE audits to ensure compliance

                

  • Maintain clean and safe work area
    • Improve and maintain 5s-housekeeping and organization
    • Audit housekeeping check lists with operators/helpers to ensure completion of tasks
    • Contribute to moving 5s in department to stage 4
      • VFM
      • Labeling, shadow boards and point of use development
      • Organization of operator/helper work station

Machine Reliability- Reduce machine center downtime.

  • Timely reporting of equipment/department maintenance needs, input of work requests, etc. for all  Dept. equipment
    • Work requests entered into datastream
    • Daily work through on each line to identify any issues
    • Communicate to maintenance any issues
    • Utilize action item list on communication boards
    • Following up with maintenance on outstanding work orders
    • Be the liason between operations and maintenance
  • Work  diligently with maintenance/electrical departments trhough guidance and support of theVSM/SUPERVISOR to ensure preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance is scheduled and completed in a timely manner.
  • Powder unit cleaning schedules are followed and preventive maintenance sheets are completed.
  • Ensure all crossheads are cleaned,assembled and ready for installation.
  • Fully prepared documents and equipment in “READY’ status upon arrival of maintenance personnel for PM or unplanned work
  • Responsible for 5-why root cause on breakdowns
  • Audit standard work for operators
    • Start- up/shut down procedures
    • Troubleshooting decision guide
    • Develop standard work for operators
  • Ensure comments are entered on downtime
  • Ensure phantom operator code is used on extended downtime event

Quality/Waste – Executing everything right the first time!

  • Support and drive for “0” ESCAPES of poor quality product to the next operations or to an external customer
  • Train operators on proper procedures so that we have no quality issues
  • Setup and operate production lines in accordance with current SOP’s
    • Following TOI and Process sheet instruuctions
    • Provide feedback to support groups for improvement
    • Responsible for startup, shutdown and changeovers of each line
      • Daily and weekly
      • Turn over to operator once all checks are made
        • Right compounds
